“Future Strategy for Research, Innovation, and Transformation.” That was the title of the panel discussion kicking off futureSAX’s Innovation Conference 2026, featuring Saxony’s Minister-President, Michael Kretschmer. The nine participants in the FCP Innovation program developed their own personal strategies for innovation across five modules. At IK26, doctoral students and postdocs from the HZDR and TU Dresden were able to actively network and experience innovation firsthand. They were also presented with their certificates. During a tour of the exhibition hall, they gained insights into the Saxfusion network coordinated by HZDR, innovative companies such as Füchtner—the nutcracker inventor’s workshop from the Ore Mountains—as well as potential funding partners like Ostsächsische Sparkasse.
The FCP Innovation program was organized for the sixth time by the Career Center for Doctoral Researchers and Postdocs in collaboration with the HZDR Innovators School and dresden | exists. The program’s goal is to help participants discover innovation as a form of personal development within a small, interdisciplinary group. The program is aimed at researchers who want to be innovative, whether in research, business, or even as founders.
